Opensimulator: Content Creators: Materials
"Materials" are a number of surface effects to enhance the looks of 3d models. In addition to to textures and some special surface effects, Second Life and OpenSimulator have three different systems for materials.
- Legacy Materials. An old, fairly simple way to add shininess and/or emulate 3D details to a surface. More information
- SL "New" Materials. A much more elaborate system. More information
- glTF PBR. Not yet fully implemented on OpenSimulator. A project to introduce a system that complies with the new glTF standard. More information
